Infinite energy…again!

Today i’m thinking and posting about the umpteenth shocking-claim from a society the existance of which has simply passed unnoticed by the most part of the population: irish brand Steorn, already mentioned by me who knows when&where, posted an invitation on the Economist to the most prominent scientific minds in the world to a presentation of an invention pretending to revolutionize the ways to product energy.

The device invented by Steorn would allow, by means of magnetic fields (a classic), infinite and cost-free energy production without energy costs (super-best-seller-classic).
There’s all the right to be skeptic over such pretestuous claims, as naively admitted by Steorn’s chief officer Sean McCarthy:

We are under no illusions that there will be a lot of cynicism out there about our proposition, as it challenges one of the basic principles of physics

Damn, of course! We’re talking about throwing apart centuries of physics and investments in technologies based on presumably fallacious principles, as well as challenging the untouchables laws of thermodynamics, since the beginning of time the true nemesys of engineers / dreamers from every part of the globe.
Big survey of the day:

a. that invention is bullshit. They’re searching for free advertising
b. they’re gonna be killed / their headquarters are gonna be blown up
c. Steorn will be acquired, the invention will be patented, blueprints will be put in a drawer and for the next 30 years nobody will hear about that
d. St. Patrick’s day has been anticipated: Sean McCarthy was drunk while giving the announcement

Oggi cogito e posto a proposito dell’ennesima dichiarazione bomba da parte di una società la cui esistenza è fondamentalmente ignorata da tutti: l’irlandese Steorn, di cui parlai già in passato chissà dove&quando, lancia tramite l’autorevole Economist dodici inviti ad esperti e scienziati per presentare un’invenzione che promette di rivoluzionare il mondo della produzione energetica.
L’apparato inventato da Steorn permetterebbe, sfruttando l’interazione di campi magnetici (un classico), la produzione di energia infinita a costo zero senza dispendio di energia alcuna (altro super-classico-bestseller).
Si ha tutto il diritto di esser scettici, come candidamente ammesso dallo stesso direttore esecutivo Sean McCarthy:

E grazie al fallo, si parla di gettare all’aria secoli di fisica e di investimenti in tecnologie presumibilmente basate su principi errati, nonché di sfidare le intoccabili leggi della termodinamica, da sempre vera nemesi degli ingegneri / sognatori di tutto il mondo.
